CLASS AND CIVIL WAR IN THE UKRAINE

Luis Lazaro Tijerina USA//10:11pm, Mar 6th '23

As the light of reason and sanity begin to dim in the diplomatic chambers of Western Europe, an imperialist war such as has never been seen before in human history is imminent. The ultimate question is whether such a war, that is a nuclear world war, can be prevented in the coming days, weeks or months? What is loathed by the various actor nation-states, the United States, Russia and Ukraine, is to acknowledge that the “Special Military Operation” is a class war, a war being waged by all parties with distinctively class interests which includes economic, social and cultural aspirations within the Donbass region and beyond that very region as well. One must also acknowledge that it is the people of the Luhansk and Donetsk Peoples Republics located in the historical Donbas region of Eastern Ukraine that are the most ferocious and austere in their waging of war against the oppressor. The Ukrainian regime is under the immature leadership of Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelensky, who is a Ukrainian politician and former comedian and actor which says much about of his lack of experienced and educated leadership and even more about his ability to con people on the world stage.

It is the people of Luhansk and Donetsk whose class heritage is one of working people, people who have worked in the coal mines, men and women who have worked diligently in industrial factories and produced the material goods that fed the bourgeoise classes in Western Ukraine, particularly in Kiev. The people of this region have been fighting for self-determination and independence since the time of Lenin. Therefore, the conflict is more than a ‘Special Military Operation’ to them. It is an act of war to remain free from the tethers of capitalism that endured under the various Kiev regimes, and like any people who fight for self-determination and independence, they know there is a price to pay to secure a just peace. One must wage a sustainable and modern destructive operation based on offensive attack. Such are the risks and undertaking that the militia forces of the Luhansk and Donetsk Republics are aware of in their war against the Zelensky regime and his various neo-Nazi forces, which also include naïve Ukrainian army personnel who are sincerely fighting for what they see as defending their homeland. Such are the immense contradictions facing them as well. What is also a profound fact is that the Russian people are preparing for a second modern Patriotic War which they are aware will cost the lives of thousands of military people, both men and women alike.

Across the Atlantic, where the lights of reason and sanity have been dimming for a while. The American people in their own naïve and docile way have no profound understanding of what their American government is leading them into which is a possible nuclear war where millions of Americans will die unless their national leadership undergoes a qualitative and quantitative change.

As Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated in the past few days at the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, “the most acute strategic threat is posed now by the US and NATO policy aimed at further fomenting the conflict in and around Ukraine. Their growing involvement in an armed confrontation is fraught with a direct military clash of nuclear powers with catastrophic consequences”.

As the Ukrainian ambassador spoke in a self-indulgent way as to the reason for the raging conflict in the Ukraine, he provoked his Russian adversary by saying “We consider this as an extraordinary show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people who resist an unprovoked and unjustified Russia’s aggression”. Yevheniia Filipenko was, of course, referring to the Western diplomats that slavishly pay homage by placing a mural of the Ukrainian flag on the wall in one of the building’s chamber halls. The western diplomats are sycophants with their smug and arrogant ways who chose to intentionally and disrespectfully ignore the Russian ambassador by not being present in the conference room when he stated that his country had no choice but to suspend its participation in the CD treaty, as “a total hybrid war [was] unleashed against us.” The Russian ambassador errs in only one thing: the war being waged against the Republics in the Donbass region of Ukraine and now in terrorist incursions into Russian proper is not just “a total hybrid war” but a war that the Ukrainian regime and in particular her allies, Poland and the ultra-right Baltic states, are attempting to wage and that it is total a war against Russia. Therein lies the “catastrophic consequences” for the Russian leadership. The leadership of the country of Belarus and the Peoples’ Republic of China are also aware of the widening war that inevitably will be a world war with nuclear weapons being used without pity or mercy. The art of war is a harsh teacher.

In speaking of my perceptions as a military historian, I must admit to being a student of the profound and formidable Soviet military theorists G.S. Isserson and A.A. Sidorenko. It is from these two revolutionary theorists which in my estimation have contributed to the theory of the art of war in some ways similar to Karl Von Clausewitz in not shying away from the understanding that to wage war one must understand the deep significance of the political forces that guide one to war in the first place. Isserson and Sidorenko, as Soviet military historians and military theorists, explain the nature of modern war within the auspices of class war as a part of the friction of arms. It should be understood that the Western capitalist nations are in essence predatory nations whose ultimate interests are to exploit the working classes not only within their own national boundaries but also to dominate and economically enslave the workers from other nations as well. It was the ancient historians, Thucydides, Tacitus and Appian who wrote of how ancient, imperial Athens and imperial Rome strove to dominant, to destroy and to kill other city states or regions in Europe and beyond, such as the Middle East, who would not submit to their economic interests and lust for natural resources that were not within their own domain.

Thus, those modern nation states, who want to survive the continuous onslaught of the various Western capitalist nations, must develop the military operation as an art that is conducive to waging total war if need be, including the offensive first strike in a nuclear confrontation. I must acknowledge that I am a military theorist who is a Marxist Leninist politically and who happens to think differently than most military theorists in the Western world. I suggest the creation of a modern operation doctrine on the art of war. For inspiration, I choose the words of the pioneering military theorist, Isserson. He recommends the following action must be chosen with nerves of steel and foresight. His suggestion is to create a “…deep offensive, that breaks down and breaks through the front of fire throughout the entire operational depth and, finally, the infliction of fatal, smashing attacks for the purpose of finally and completely routing the enemy”. If Russia, along with Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), are to be successful in their war against not the peoples of Western Europe, but the decadent leadership of Western Europe, then they must be audacious in creating an operational offensive attack on a broad and deep scale that brooks no fear, even if that means a war not seen like any other war in human history. Ultimately, in a class war escalated into a world war, there can be no quarter to the enemy, for the very nature of a class war is a war of complete destruction, and it cannot be otherwise.
